Five...
There is a good reason to explain why I've fallen off the face of the blogging world and crawled into a hole...it's called pregnancy. That's right folks...our family of 4 will become 5. When I just tried to log onto Blogger, I couldn't even remember how, that's how long it's been...
For those of you who have been around for kids #1 and #2, you know well that pregnancy and I don't mix well...there is very little of it that I enjoy, and the first several months send me into my cave of constant puking and despair. #1 ended at about 13 weeks, #2 ended about 19 weeks...we'll see with this one...hopefully this lengthening out pattern won't continue.
I'm 12 weeks, have been to the doctor twice, seen and heard the little heartbeat, and am finally accepting that this could happen. I find that I get more nervous and paranoid with each pregnancy...I sort of took everything for granted with Lauren, but I remember with Kate, and now with this one, I'm nervous almost all the time that something will go wrong. I think it's because I have a lot more experience, and my friends have lots of experience, and I see just what can and does happen...not always, but definitely sometimes. I'll just be grateful for each normal and non-eventful checkup.
So you Ellis girls...off my back! (Just kidding) I've been hugging my toilet a lot lately, with no signs of slowing down. This pregnancy is unique in that I get progressively sicker as the day goes on, and by late afternoon (which is unfortunately when I start teaching piano lessons) and night (when I have to make dinner and wrangle 2 kids through the bath and into bed), is when I'm very, very sick. Andy and I haven't been on a date in many, many weeks...in fact he went and saw a movie with my Dad on Saturday night...can't have your wife...date her dad, right?
So, that's my explanation, not that any really cares, but it does explain the weeks of blogging-hiatus...now if we can just find that perfect house to buy before this baby shows up in the Fall...we'll keep hunting...
