Rats--The Musical

Lauren went to a performing arts camp for a week and had the best time. Andy is convinced she was the best one up there, a total star, and tells everyone. I think she had a good time and knew all the songs, and didn't mess up her lines--a success. The show was called Rats, and was basically the story of the Pied Piper...it was really, really fun to watch.

I think most boys have pictures like this--here are Charlie's...I have to say, the boy likes his dolls and barbies and strollers...

Summer Fun

Another day at Seal Beach--our favorite place. We've had a very mild summer so far, and this afternoon was chilly--we ate all our snacks, but didn't stay long...
Kate literally face planted into a picture frame hanging above the family room couch...she knocked the frame off the wall and left 4 gouges in the wood frame from her 4 front teeth. A week or so later, we noticed her front tooth was dying--so sad. A trip to the dentist, X-rays, etc...we'll watch it and hope that it goes back to white, or at least can stay in her mouth for the next few years till it comes out on its own...sigh. We're also growing her bangs out (her father finally won that battle), and she detests anything in her hair, so we'll be seeing 2 little eyes looking out from under hair for the next long while...

Just like her mother--shaking her bootie at all the wrong times...

My cousin, his wife and their kids came to So Cal for a week and came up to my parents' house for dinner--so fun to see them...

This is Charlie's new deal--he plugs/covers his ears whenever he thinks something is too loud--the first time I saw him do it in my rear-view mirror while I was hollering at Kate in the back of the car. She was bad, and I was mad, and letting her know...Charlie was in his seat covering his ears. Sad. In this situation below--he put the chair there, so I can't feel badly for him.

Happy birthday Mom! She just finished her last round of chemo, so we're hoping for a clean bill of health in the near future.

Charlie loves wearing arm floaties this summer, and it makes for some good hands-free swimming.

I walked into the kitchen one morning after getting ready for a while in my bathroom, and found an almost fish-homicide on my hands. I hate these fish and secretly wish them dead, but not by Crystal Light intoxication. Bad Charlie, bad. I quickly cleaned out the water and scooped up the rocks, but the fish probably urinated red for a while following this incident. We're about to expand our pet population with a bunny...stay tuned.

4th of July Weekend

I'm only a month late on posting about the 4th of July...oh well! It was a fun weekend...kinda nice to have 3 days to celebrate...we went to my parents' ward breakfast on Saturday morning and enjoyed food, old friends, and a parade...

This is what Charlie did the entire time during the parade--RUN! I chased him from one end of the parking lot to the other the whole time...while trying to keep track of the girls.

Sunday morning was a battle to get a good picture of the kids in their Independence Day outfits...this picture about sums it up! My girls wore these dresses for my sister's wedding last summer, and they have been the most versatile thing in the closet! They've worn them several times for different occasions, simply by adding a different colored sash...red was the color of the weekend, so new red sashes were in order--these will probably reappear at Christmas.

We spent Monday with some friends enjoying the pool and a good BBQ--the kids had fun throwing these pop-its at the ground and listening to them crack.
