Memorial Day in San Diego

We headed to San Diego for 3 1/2 days over Memorial Day Weekend and had a really great time...swimming at the hotel and the beach, staying up late watching movies, flying kites, eating and seeing Shamu for the first time...

Snuggling in mom and dad's bed...we rented a suite, so the 3 older kids had their own room and we kept Brooke with us...

One child was supposed to sleep on the floor, but this is what we found instead one night...

We rented bikes and spent a morning riding around Mission Bay--so fun!  The weather was warmer than the forecast had indicated--75 instead of 70!--absolutely beautiful and the kids had a lot of fun...

We spent an afternoon at the beach on Coronado Island...flying kites, playing in the sand, and getting wet...

And Charlie took a nice long nap on the sand...he was wiped out!

On Sunday afternoon we visited Sunset Cliffs, which I had read about online and really wanted to see--it was breathtaking...sheer cliffs that dropped straight to the water...

My parents and brother and his girlfriend came up Sunday and spent the rest of the weekend with us...

On Sunday afternoon we went to Ocean Beach and flew kites again and dug for sand crabs with Uncle Michael...

Monday brought the kids' first trip to Sea World...

It was the end of a long, fun weekend, and Charlie was DONE--I was lucky to get this family picture!
